This vintage Napier silver-plated brooch has the flavor of an heirloom and is set with five foiled amethyst crystals. The domed design is 2" wide by 1 5/8" high. The neo-Gothic open-work metal has the appearance of sterling—Napier quality finishes often mislead collectors! The foiled stones are sharply faceted, prong-set, and have the hue of genuine amethyst quartz.
The back of the pin is stamped "NAPIER" in upper case letters; I would date it to the late 1940s. The pin has a safety clasp and is in very fine condition.
