This is a rare Qing dynasty temple seal made in the form of Buddha's head. It is made of brass or bronze and is heavy for its size. It stands 7 1/2 in. tall and the square seal base is 3 in. square. It appears to have something sealed inside it, as you can hear it rattle when you shake it. Perhaps a sacred talisman ? It has a very nice original patina and displays beautifully. I haven't had the seal translated. Please check out the pictures, as they accurately represent the condition.
