This impressive vase is made of cinnabar lacquer built up in layers and then carved. It stands 10 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. It is a six sided design with each panel depicting different flowers and plants carved in high relief and it is in excellent condition. We don't believe this to be very old, maybe 1950's-60's, but the quality of the workmanship is equal to any that I have seen, old or new.
