This is a very impressive piece of old chinese woodcarving dating from the 1920's. It measures 15.5 inches tall by 8.5 inches wide by 6 inches deep and weighs a hefty 7.5 pounds. If you look carefully at the pictures, you will see that not only are the foodog's eyes and teeth inlaid with bone, but so too are the eyes of the child and the deity. This is one sign, along with the quality of the carving, which indicates that this is a quality piece done by a master carver. The foodog is missing one section of his teeth, but it doesn't detract from the piece. Please check out the pictures, as they accurately represent the condition.
