T10OCT02-9

Brush-McCoy Blue and White Stoneware Holland Pitcher Antique Brush-McCoy Pottery Blue and White Stoneware #330 Holland Jug Pitcher. Brush-McCoy made this pitcher in 1925. The old potteries did not typically sign their wares until the late 1930s, so this is not marked Brush-McCoy. It is marked with an in-mold #330 on the bottom and pictured in the Sanfords' Guide to Brush-McCoy pottery, Book 1, 1996 edition, page 29 (1996 BV $265-300.00) and called the 1925 #330 Holland Jug. The pitcher has a thickly embossed decoration on the top and bottom rim with a soft, mottled blue. The center has a stencil of Holland windmills, children and puppy. This heavy stoneware pitcher measures 7'' tall, 7'' wide spout to handle and 6 1/2'' bottom diameter. There are no chips noted. There is visible age related crazing on the inside bottom (see pics), three visible old hairlines extending from the rim (they are stable and pitcher rings soundly when tapped). There is also a faint hairline on the base which appears to be superficial--only in the glaze. Because this is an old American piece of stoneware, there are drips of dark blue paint in a few areas and glaze pops/bulges from manufacturing. This pitcher is in overall very good vintage condition--a perfect piece would most likely be a reproduction--as these pieces were used everyday.

F6AUG17-01

McCoy Pottery Cuspidor Vase Vintage McCoy Pottery Green Cuspidor in the Grapes pattern. This cuspidor is shown in the Brush-McCoy and McCoy reference books. It is shown on the BM catalog pages from 1916 and in later years until the 1950s (the later ones were marked McCoy). This Grapes Cuspidor is one of the older pieces--it is unmarked and the clay is the darker tan color from the earlier years. It is heavy, solid and measures 5'' tall and 7 1/2'' in diameter. There is some faint crazing and a small glaze flake on the bottom rim. It does have the usual USA / McCoy pottery glaze runs and skips. While you could use it as it was originally intended--I won't tell--this McCoy Grapes Cuspidor makes a very nice vase, planter or conversation piece.

Click for more detail...

F6AUG17-15

McCoy Pottery Owl Wallpocket Vintage McCoy Pottery Owl on Trivet Wallpocket, circa 1953. This wallpocket has the McCoy USA mark on the backside. The white cold paint decoration on the brown owl is mostly intact. There is just the gentle hint of crackling to the top glaze. There is a small chip off one of the feet on the backside--which I don't consider detrimental because you cannot see it when it's displayed. This McCoy Owl on a Trivet Wallpocket measures 6'' wide and a hair under 8 1/2'' long. (One of my McCoy reference books states it measures 8'' long and 6'' wide, another says 8 1/2'' long and 6'' wide and still another states 8 1/4''long.) The guaranteed authentic McCoy Pottery Wall Pockets are very hard to find and are great for the McCoy Pottery or Wallpocket collector.

BOBFEB06-1

McCoy Pottery Vase Bowl Beautiful McCoy Pottery 11'' Coral Centerpiece Bowl or Planter with flowing, ridged sides and embossed leaf-like design on the bottom edge. This Planter Bowl was made by McCoy in 1948 and is pictured in Volume 1, page 149 of the Hanson/Niessen book of McCoy Pottery. It has the raised McCoy mark. For vintage McCoy pottery this planter bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. It has the usual McCoy glaze skips and a speck of glazed over excess clay on one side, but nothing detrimental. The only age or use evidence is some age-related crazing visible on the base and a couple spots of residue under the rim which should come off easily. This planter bowl measures 11'' long, 3 3/8'' tall and 7 1/2'' front to back. Like most McCoy pottery it is quite heavy and solid, weighing almost 3 lbs. This planter vase centerpiece bowl is guaranteed authentic vintage McCoy Pottery. It is a beautiful piece to add to any collection. Please see all the pictures.

FEGNOV05-10

McCoy Pottery Deer Planter Vase This McCoy Pottery Deer Fernery Window Box Planter Vase is also called an Antelope Window Box Planter by some. It is pictured in most of the books on McCoy Pottery. They were made in the 1940s, in two styles, marked NM and unmarked. According to the Hansons' references, the marked planters have the braided top design and raised dry ring around the bottom. The unmarked planters have two dry runners--what they call resting legs--on the bottom. This beautiful matte white deer fernery / planter is unmarked. It measures 9 1/2'' long, 3 5/8'' wide and 3 3/4'' tall. It is in excellent condition with only a few tiny pinpoint glaze pops typical of McCoy Pottery. Please see all the pictures of this beautiful, hard to find planter.

F5APR02-2

McCoy Pottery Frog Planter Vintage McCoy Pottery Frog Planter made in 1950. This little guy is pictured in the Hansen/Niessen/Hansen book of McCoy Pottery, Vol. 1, page 235 and marked McCoy USA. He has glossy green glazed colors with a small amount of the original cold paint (yellow and black) around his feet and mouth and a little patch of white on one eye remaining. Most of these cold paint decorated pieces have lost the color by now. There is a small spot on the inner rim that is a glazed over factory slice and the usual McCoy pin-point glaze pops and drips. With only age-related crazing, he is in very good vintage condition. This nice, solid McCoy Frog Planter measures 8 1/4'' long, 5 1/8'' wide and 4'' tall. (The white spots on pics 3 and 4 are light flashes from the camera.) Some of the McCoy Frog figural planters have been reproduced. This is a guaranteed, authentic McCoy Frog Planter, not a reproduction.

MCCOYV19

McCoy Pottery Vase Corinthian McCoy Pottery Company's Tall Corinthian Line Vase in a glossy blue/green foam drip glaze. Dates from the late 1960s. This vase measures approximately 11'' tall and is marked with the raised 2005 USA. It is pictured in the Hanson, Nissen, Hanson book of McCoy Pottery, Volume 3, page 184. They state these were marked McCoy but I've always found them marked with a number and USA. (These have not been reproduced as yet.) Guaranteed authentic vintage McCoy Pottery. There is just the faintest hint of age related crazing and a X-shaped area on the top rim which appears to be darker crazing--there is no break in the glaze. This lovely blue/green drip McCoy Corinthian Line Vase will make a nice addition to a McCoy Pottery or USA pottery collection.

F6JUN16

McCoy Pottery Grecian Line Planter Vase Elegant McCoy Pottery 8'' Pedestal Dish Planter Vase from their 1956 Grecian Line. Measures 8'' long and 4 5/8'' tall and marked with the raised McCoy U.S.A. 442 mark and 24K Gold stamp. According to the Hanson / Nissen book, McCoy advertised this line as ivory with green spray and decorated with 24K gold marbleizing. McCoy lost money due to the cost of the gold decorations, so they dropped the Grecian line in 1958. With just the faintest hint of crazing on the bottom, this McCoy Grecian Planter Vase will make a beautiful addition to any collection.

F6OCT29-2

McCoy Pottery Ribbed Jardiniere McCoy Pottery Early 1920s-1930s Stoneware Vertical Ribbed No. 8 Jardiniere in a yellow/gold color. These pieces were called jards by McCoy, but are smaller than most jards--they look more like flowerpots. These jards are pictured in most of the books on McCoy including the catalog pages of the HNH books. It is marked with an incised 8 and like the older stoneware pieces has a darker, more tan clay visible. It has gentle all-over age crazing and a faint pencil-thin hairline? on the interior. I'm calling it a hairline but it is smooth, intact and is really the darkening of a craze line. Measures 3 5/8'' tall and 4 5/8'' top diameter.

He measures 9'' long and 5'' tall. There is a spot of missing clay (manufacturing) on the upper rim (see the pictures) that is fully glazed over. There are a couple of the teeny pops and extra clay specks common to McCoy pottery. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, hairlines or crazing. F6NOV11-14

McCoy Pottery Pear Wallpocket Vintage McCoy Pottery Pear Wall Pocket from 1953 as part of a series of fruit wallpockets and matching planters McCoy produced. These wallpockets are very hard to find anymore, but worth the search. This pear wallpocket measures 7 1/4'' tall and 6 1/8'' wide. McCoy did not mark them, but some do have the production workers initial (this one has the letter S impressed) imprinted--which is how the workers were paid. It has the usual McCoy drips and glaze pops on the leaves--but less than most McCoy pottery. There is a small glaze flake on one leaf (just cover with a spot of green paint on if you wish) but otherwise it's in good condition. This wonderful estate sale find will make a nice addition to any collection.
