Puritan Pottery was in business from 1936-1959. Unlike many USA pottery companies that used decals or transfer painting, Puritan's colorful designs were all hand painted underglaze. This jug is unmarked with a flat, dry bottom. There are no chips or cracks. There is some light age related crazing and faint darkening under the glaze common to these older USA pottery pieces.
