Manufacturer: USA Pottery
Old Green Glazed Yellowware Bowl. The Ohio potteries (Robinson Ransbottom, Watt, Hull and McCoy) made the green-glazed yellowware bowls from the early 1900s-1930s. It is unmarked of course, since most USA pottery companies did not mark their pottery until the late 1930s--and some not at all. It is a glossy, drippy, green color with areas of the yellow clay visible. Measuring 7'' in diameter and 3'' tall, I would say it's in fabulous condition for a bowl approximately 80 years old. There is light, all-over crazing but no hairlines, chips or cracks. Stilt marks are visible on the inside of the bowl as well the base, and there are the usual random small excess clay deposits and pin point pops as a result of the manufacturing process. Green glazed yellowware is very collectible and this bowl will make a wonderful addition to a vintage bowl collection. |
