Vintage Brown USA Pottery Cookie Jar with Handpainted Fruit design. This cookie jar has strange, small ear-like handles. Has raised in-mold USA mark. Stands 7 1/2'' tall with lid in place and 9'' wide handle-to-handle. The cookie jar has no chips, cracks, etc. just a little color loss to the fruit. The cover has 2 small nibbles on the edge (see pics) but that's not bad considering the age. This cookie jar is likely circa 1930s based on the style and decoration. I'm not sure which of the USA potteries like McCoy, Watt Pottery, RRP Robinson-Ransbottom, UHL, Redwing, etc. made this one. (It almost looks wheel-made but the glaze is too thick to say for sure.) This quirky vintage cookie jar would make a nice addition to a vintage kitchen, stoneware or cookie jar collection. |
