A very scarce Federal Treasury Department, Internal Revenue prescription form for a carefully controlled substance during the 1920s and 1930s - ALCOHOL! Note the use of Opium Poppies as the federal government's choice of decoration of the top border of a form regulating another form of drug!

An interesting relic from a unique era in our history. This is a prescription for "Spiritus Frumenti" a euphomism for whiskey, taken as directed. This 6" x 6.75" document is printed in black and red was issued under the authority of the NATIONAL PROHIBITION ACT and was Blank No. 78 in J Maucher's prescription book.

This prescription was written on Mar 25, 1928, for W Wesman and cancelled on Mar 25, 1928, in Carroltown, PA.

Printed on fancy, beautiful paper that was also used for U.S. currency. When you hold this prescription up to the light PROHIBITION is watermarked design throughout.
