RARE Bohemian gold filligree w/glass vases two Bohemian glass vases each decorated with ultra-fine filligree wire cages into which the colored glass is then blown. The glass has a paneled optic effect in addition to being caged. No written documentation of this technique has been seen by me in over 20 years of searching. Others I have spoken to have never or rarely seen any other pieces.
The blue glass example is free from defect and stands about 6inch tall X 7inch dia.
The amber vase is 7inch tall X 5inch dia with light chips around the ground top[could be ground away to perfect]
The blown cavity on the foot is not centered.
Severe closeups of each are added to show minute detail in metalwork.
Any information you might have on technique name or origin of the process would be appreciated, especially published reports.
The vases are each circa 1880.
