pair of framed bisque German/French Victorian figures German or French colored bisque 3 dimensional figurines in their original oval black frames with brass beading. 15inch X 17inch framed 11inch X 13inch sight.
One depicts couple in boat in Summer and other is couple in sleigh in Winter. Maybe there are a Spring and Fall out there somewhere, but in 35 years of dealing I have never seen anything remotely like these. The figures appear to be perfect but were not removed to examine. The original bubble shape glass is perfect. One of the frames was cracked at one time but carefully glued back and sturdy.

Victoria Bergesen states in Encyclopedia of British Art Pottery, Forester's Art Vases were often hand-painted but the only known artist was A Dean whose work was shown at Paris Expo of 1900(PG April 1900)

John Bartlett in British Ceramic Art 1870-1940 states R Dean was a decorator at Wardle.

No mention of Ronda Ware was found in reference books or on internet searches.

Giant Blue Onion design German sugar cannister This blue onion design cannister is the largest one we have ever seen. The scale of this piece is hard to show in just a picture as it would hold 4 to 5 times the amount of normal large containers found in this pattern. It is marked Sugar so it was made for the English speaking market. It is signed Germany and many others call these Meissen, a misnomer. It is in fine condition with a few hairline type marks, none of which go through to the inside. No chips or repairs. I am sure it had a matching lid but I have never seen one that large. Many folks have wooden lids made. This must have been made for a really big kitchen or some commercial purpose.
