This UNIQUE square-mouthed pitcher is an elegantly chic ANTIQUE porcelain luster collectible adorned in lush, reddish and soft pink roses from Germany. The pitcher very much reflects a design common to limoge, scrolls in relief highlighting the pitcher ( as you can see in the photos ). What a wonderful addition to any romantic chic or cottage chic décor ! Outstanding piece to display or add to your collection OR PERFECT GIFT! Absolutely no sign of crazing or cracks. The transfer is also in tact with only a tiny flake or two but does not detract from its beauty.
This item is dated to the last quarter of the 1800’s. The country name, GERMANY, is within a circle in red with what appears to be the number 81 .

The lustre and transfer (roses) is in excellent condition and there is no crazing or signs of cracksIt is unknown if this number is the year (meaning 1881 as was common in English wares) but it is confirmed that the dates of the earliest marks seen using the country name as part of the mark for Germany was in the early 188o’s (confirmed in Kovel’s Dictionary of Marks).
