Authentic antique, handpainted wash bowl and pitcher in true cottage style! The floral design has a folk art essence. The pitcer measures 10 1/4" tall and is trimmed in gold and marked on the bottom "1872" ~ and oh my! The bowl is 15 1/4" in diameter and stands 5 1/4" tall.
The roses are addorned by ribbons in a very unique folk art type brush technique. This set is not marked. There is crazing and I noticed a very small stress fracture on the bowl (1 1/4") but is not at all noticeable and does not distract from this truly beautiful piece. This pitcher and bowl is certainly is a piece to be had for a true cottage look or that chic and shabby style. A must have!
