Offering this nice oil on canvas scene of a pastoral landscape with horses being watered. I cannot find a signature. I believe this was painted in the 30's based on the frame. The painting has a nice scerene quality and to me there is something appealing about the proportions of the sky to the figures and field and trees. the Size is 49 1/2 x 28. There is a small tear, about 1/2 inch, I have pictured it for you. Nicely done.

For sale is this beautiful oil painting of one of the scenes of the Passion of the Christ. This painting depicts one of the falls of Jesus. The painting measures 36 x 48 inches and is unframed. The colors are very bright. There is one small hole to the far right of the painting. This painting was one in a series of the Stations of the Cross. It is about 100+ years and came from a church in Bay City, Michigan. great artistic detail in the physique's of the men. They have the old world body, massive strength against a Christ weary with suffering.

Offering this beautiful painting, oil on canvas of an Indian woman. The painting is unframed and measures 10 x 16 1/8. It is signed in the lower left corner Wm. Meuttman and on the back there is a brass plate that reads; Lone Elk, Wm Meuttman. The colors are all cool except for the red cloak she wears. I purchased this painting from a gentleman who inherited it from his grandfather. His story is this,his grandfather won it during a poker game. This he says, may just be family lore surrounding the painting. He went on to say he was told she is most likely a Chippewa. She has two buns of hair meaning she is free to marry and can bear children. He also told me the setting may be from Cross Village, Michigan and painted around 1905-1910. Wm Meuttman was born 1869 in Cincinnati Ohio and died 1948. He traveled the West, painting scenes with Indians including the Sioux and members of Southwest tribes. The Smithsonian Inventory lists three painting by him. GHe was born of German parents in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club. The painting is just beautiful.

Wonderful White mountain, New Hampshire artist, W. H. Weisman oil painting. Measures 40 x 35 with a 2 inch frame. Appears to be all original. Signed in the lower right corner, difficult to see unless under good light--but guranteed. Great oil on canvas of a landscape with stream. It might be Weisman's brook, not sure? Weisman received is art education at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine arts. He worked in Phila and Detroit before moving to Franconia, NH in 1878. He lived between Franconia and Bethlehem near the source of the Weisman Brook, which was named for him. The condition of this painting is original, it could use a cleaning. Very beautiful and calming.

A great old Dutch oil painting. Cannot find a signature but obviously a very talented artist. The lights and shadows are so great, especially on the girls face. It looks as if this piece was cut, see photo of back. The canvas was then wrapped to the board you see. Size is 22 x 28, that is the overall size and there is a 2 inch frame.

For sale is this most magnificant oil on canvas. I believe the painting to be 19th century and European. It is a mountain scene with a monestary in ruins. The painting is signed in the lower left corner Anton S. Vogel. The painting is maginficant and so is the frame. The frame is about 7 inches deep, with layers and layers of gilt decotation. The frame is in A+ condition with only minimal loss. The canvas has a serious hole in the lower right corner. It has been patched and is in need of inpainting. The damaged area measures 12 x 11. There is also a very small repair in the sky, it is only 1 inch square. I believe the artist to have been of some recognition and talent. A piece like this would never have such a marvelous frame if it weren't of some calibre. The overall size of the painting is 45 x 36 x 4 1/4. The story behind the painting is that it came from a church in Pontiac Michigan. This picture is beautiful as is, the repair allows you to see the whole scene. But truly it sould be professionally repaired.

The painting is signes in the lower right corner Caspar Wouter. Measures 25 x 39. Original frame. The painting needs cleaned and also there is a crack in the wood about 3/4 down the board. The feel of this painting is outstanding, the story timeless.

For sale is this early hudson river scene. It is done on very thin canvas perhaps linen. The paint is very thin and you can see thu parts of the painting when held to the light. When flat against the wall it is fine. The painting measures 18 x 24. It is a Hudson River Valley painting in the vicinity of Storm King Mountain. Sailing Boats on a Bay. Dated to the late 1800's. A very nice painting. It comes unframed. the painting is unsigned. On the back of this painting it is written in pencil, "This was given to mother by a woman who painted it before she was married and gave to my son who cares ??? when I am old. Jeannie P Hayward.

It is either painted on board or the canvas has been laid down on board. There is the framing tag on the back. Most likely framed up in the 1940's or 1950's. The painting is signed on the lower right, J. U. Dura Carson and dated 1849. It is a lovely painting.

For sale is this most unusual 18th. century Wax Mask. This mask is of a womans or childs face. It is mounted on beautiful lace and woven hair. I purchased this piece from the Richard Jerzy estate here in Michigan. R Jersy was a prominent American artist and Center for Creative Studies professor. This piece came from is artful collection. On the back of this item it say 'Purchased by R. Jerzy in San Gimignuno, Italy, Summer of 1971.' This piece however, is very old and had been professionally mounted. It measures 20 3/4 x 16 3/4. The detail of the background is wonderful,,please pardon any glare or reflection from the camera.
