~Tailored early 1930s Navy Wool Crepe Buttoned Dress~
This gorgeous, tailored dress was made by Jack Stern~in a navy blue wool crepe that is lined in cotton for the bodice part, and in taffeta for the skirt portion. The waist is slightly dropped in a leftover style from the 1920s, and features a piped waistline, with a bow adorning the right side made from matching bias fabric. The front center buttons down with what seems like a million buttons...There is no zipper on this dress~also helping to date it to the early 1930s. The bodice is darted and pieced in a VERY flattering style. Bust measures 38 inches, waist (which sits slightly below natural waistline) measures 34 inches, and hips measure 40 inches. Length is 42 inches from shoulder to hem. This dress is in perfect condition. The blue shade is deep and perfect~unfaded. In the photos, the flash has faded the color some...consider it to be a true navy blue~quite deep. It is very beautiful! This is truly a special and one of a kind vintage dress.
