The Spirit of 76. Engraved for Godey's Magazine. One would think this is circa 1876. Signed in pencil on back side, Godey Sept 1865.
BACKGROUND INFO
This is an authentic steel or copper engraving on a heavier grade of paper stock. The verso, reverse side, signed in pencil, Godey Sept 1865. This was once a page in a volume.
The image shows a young white woman offering a live duck to a barefoot black man on horseback.
In whole, this item measures 6 1/2 x 10 inch.
The image itself measures 4 7/8 x 7 inch.
The paper is tanned with age and has surface soil. There is foxing,little brown age spots at the top left corner and bottom left corner.
Circa: 1865 to 1876

Still a very nice picture to restore and put back into a frame. A must have. The size is 13 3/4 X 15 1/2 inch.

Vanity or Serving Tray with butterfly and silk
Vanity or Serving Tray with butterfly and silk with dried flowers under glass. As seen this was done a very, very long time ago. The wood frame has most of the paint worn off. The handles are a type of metal or copper. The butterfly and silk have very slight yellowing. The backside paper has water staining, that does not appear to have gone onto silk and butterfly arrangement. I would replace paper back, selling as found. This is a very ornate antique item. Tray without handles this item measures 10 5/8 inch X 5 5/8 inch. From edge of handle to edge of opposite handle 11 1/2 inch. Truly ornate.

Antique Gesso Frame wtih hunt fabric horse dogs stuffed. This is unique. The frame holds size a 15 inch X 19 inch picture. Over all frame measures 21 3/8 inch X 17 3/8 inch. Presently, there is a vintage piece of fabric with a hunt scene. The dogs and horses having been stuffed to give a 3 d effect. This fabric has some foxing. The frame has three tiny knicks located as follows, 1. at the top right corner approx 2/8 of an inch X 1/8 of an inch. 2. bottom left corner approx. 3/8 of an inch X 2/8 of an inch at widest. 3. bottom right corner approx 2/8 of an inch X 1/8 of an inch. The rest of the frame is fantastic. A must have.
