This inkwell, in the form of a recumbent camel is unmarked but seen this attributed to being American made, circa 1920. The cold painted polychrome, over white cast metal is in very good condition with only very slight wear to the paint. The camel has a decorated saddle which is hinged and serves as the cover for the glass insert. The insert is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, with just some old ink residue. The inkwell measures 8 ¾" across by 5 ½" tall and 4" deep. With the cold paint, the insert and the hinge all being in very good condition, this vintage inkwell is a great find for any collector.
