Genovese. Professor Genovese, born 1930, has a distinguished background having attended Columbia University, teaching at Polytechnic Institute of Brookly Rutgers University and Sir George Williams University in Montreal and chairman of the history department at University of Rochester and in 1973 he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the Center of the Behavioral Sciences. He bagan writing "Roll, Jordan, Roll" in 1962 after a dacade of reviewing slave plantation records, family papers, slave narratives, and travelers' accounts. He has been published many times.
