No other category inspires such creativity as does the bodice/blouse/top category. Historically, because of the proximity to the face and the relatively small amount of fabric needed, our sisters from the past have gone overboard for tops of all kinds. They beaded, sequined, embroidered, smocked, pleated, tucked, add buttons, lace and appliques; they made them elegant or funky, tailored or frilly--to suit their own personal style.
