The deep colors of this scarf drew me to it. I couldn't stop myself! And I have always been a sucker for polka-dots. And of course they are all the rage right now in fashion for the spring.
This scarf is so cute and a whimsical accent for any occasion. The shape is completely square: 25" X 25". Shown here with a vintage hat, it could be tied on a purse, worn sailing--tied around the neck with a butterfly knot, or like a babushka!
I am dating this in the 80s, mainly because of the polka dots with poly fabric. Princess Diana was responsible for bringing those back into style in the 1980s. They were originally from the swing era. So I'm guessing this one is from the 80s. Because of that, however, its a great match for 40s-50s vintage (as you can see in my photos!)or just current wear. Polka dots are everywhere in the stores right now.

This one is just for fun. Not silk. I don't know the fabric. My guess would be polyester blend of some sort. Do you have an outfit that is a bit austere and needs a little bit of fun attached? Whether the designer or manufacturer, Lestire' knew how to have a bit of fun! |
