Vintage Cherry Red Knit Sweater Suit Embroidered 1960s
Women's suits changed as women's needs changed. By the 1960s women were addicted to the look afforded by a good suit for dress and work, but were beginning to also look for comfort and ease of cleaning as a factor in their clothing choices.

As designers found more and more synthetic fabrics and more ways of using natural fabrics, these showed up in fashion and became popular for comfort and ease of care. The knit sweater suit--easy to wear, and hard to wrinkle, became a popular trend in the 1960s and is still very popular today.
This cherry red 3 piece (what I assume to be) wool knit suit made by Renata Knitwear ROMA (made in Italy) is lovely and sturdy at the same time. A dry cleanable cherry knit fabric has black floral embroidery detail on the jacket lapel , the three-quarter length sleeve, and on the matching top. This suit is in excellent condition and has been dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
The size is a vintage 14 but since sizes have changed since the 1960s, we need to go by measurements for sizing.

This is a classy and well-made suit for dress events, school, or work and great for travel. This is a quality suit from a well-known design house in Italy. You can't go wrong wrapping yourself in the finest Italian wool.
There are no stains or rips or tears or odors. In excellent condition, you will really love wearing this suit! |
