Circa: 1960s Condition: Excellent Size: 8 Type: Formal Prom Dress Manufacturer: Unknown For hundreds of years, taffeta has been a favorite fabric for formal wear. Its more forgiving and durable than satin yet has that dressy sheen we love so much.
This early 60s formal is made of china blue taffeta and boasts a jagged dropped a waistline--a nod back to the 40s--that is accented by a self fabric rose.

Shown here over a tulle slip (not included). Lovely!
As you can see from the photos, you can make it stand out with crinoline or wedding type petticoats--something with nice movement and waist slimming features.
It could easily be shortened for a party dress look instead of formal if desired. Or--wear it this way a few times and then hem it up!
This dress would have probably been worn originally with long black gloves and black accessories, perhaps with pearls and a 3 row pearl bracelet, a fur stole or chiffon wrap. Of course you will update the look when you wear it, but isn't it a lovely dress to build on?
There aren't any tags to tell us sizes, so we will measure for size.
Bust: 32" Natural Waist: 28" From Natural Waist to Hem: 42" Hips:Full

Picture yourself in this lovely dress at your formal event! And make him take you dancing! |
