Circa: 1960s Condition: Very Good Size: One Size Type: Tea Apron Manufacturer: Unknown What a beautiful little tea apron! Made of tiered sheer nylon layers cut as very full circles, the top layer is split peplum style at center. The layers are trimmed with black. The sheer fabric makes a pretty bow.
This type apron was used for teas, showers, luncheons, and other dressy occasions.
The apron is in very good condition.

I would give it an excellent rating, but for the one small hole (shown in photo). (The price also reflects the flaw, although it is lost visually in the fullness of the apron and does not detract from the beauty of this piece.)
The measurements are:
Circle layers, length: 5", 9", 13" Width at bottom of skirt: 83" Waist with sashes: 61" sash tip to tip Waist area without sashes: 19" Sashes each: 21"
This apron is lovely to experiment with in regard to clothing to wear with it for ultimate effect! I have shown in photos some experimenting I did, but since it is a solid, much more could be done, (stripes, obvious prints, plaids, etc.), especially on stage. This apron looks wonderful on stage.
Beautiful keepsake from the 60s! |
