Circa: 50s Condition: Excellent Size: One Size Type: Kitchen Apron Manufacturer: Handmade Embroidery Swedish What a lovely apron! From a Swedish community in Kansas, probably from the 1950s-60s. Black and white gingham has provided a ground for some lovely embroidery.
At the waist, the fullness is controlled by pleats that have embroidery holding them in place.

Four images of wheat stalk have been embroidered and enclosed in a fret design on the skirt. The apron has one embroidered pocket, and an ample sash.
Handmade, and expertly. Even though this apron is listed as used, I don't believe it has ever been worn and is in excellent condition. This apron should be washable--cold. Because of the embroidery, I would hang dry.
The measurements are:
Waist-including sashes: 76" tip to tip Each hemmed sash: 28" Waist area: 21" Skirt length: 23" Skirt width at bottom edge: 34"
Lovely apron. Lovely embroidery. Lovely "life" picture you would make in this apron! |
