This pumpkin print poly/knit party/day dress is the greatest! I mean, it's a great dress for wearing (fits right into today's styles),for theme parties, or for costume use in the theater: shows like MAME,THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, THE BOYFRIEND, SINGING IN THE RAIN, ANYTHING GOES--among others.
With this particular "VELMA" dress, the outer dress is made of a pumpkin print, jersey knit for no-wrinkle ease, and is the epitome of the dropped-waist, slip-on dress so loved during that period. The dropped-waist bodice has a split collar with ecru double-lace trim and cap sleeves--also with double-lace trim. It is shown here with a ribbon belt (included) and a corsage of silk violets (also included).
The skirt boasts a gathered construction with a scalloped hem, (all the rage in the 1920s), with a double-lace oval accent in the scallops. (These details are now all back in style, and therefore can be used to wear and as a costume as well!
Included also is a tan fitted a-line poly/rayon slip that has shoulder straps and side vents.
