Circa: Late 60s-Early 70s Condition: Excellent Size: Medium 36-38B Type: Black and White Double Knit Manufacturer: Unknown I watched this dress for a day or two before I got it for you. I just kept coming back to check it out. The style is reminiscent of the twenties, but with the ease of care of the late 60s or early 70s. Maybe it's because I remember these dresses and how much fun they were to wear.

The "mod" styling does remind you of the 1920s--with a shorter, pleated skirt--but it's better than the twenties because it's comfortable and doesn't need ironing! Knit fabrics took over the world then; for they were easy to wear, travel in (no ironing ever needed!), and couldn't be beat for comfort.
This little black and white, knit dress is one of those dresses. It has a sleeveless shell type bodice with its original back metal zipper, pleated skirt, and contemporary styling. (I have reversed the colors on one of the pictures so that you can see the boxed pleats!) You could go buy a dress of this style today. And it's doubly good because of its comfort--so versatile, too--it would look nice for a job interview or a movie with a friend!
It has no tags, but the actual measurements are :
Bust:38" Waist area: 38 Hips at dropped Waist: 43" Underarm to dropped waist:16" Underarm to hem: 33" Hem:1"
Great little dress for spring and summer and can be worn even into the fall with a cardigan and tights! |
