This 1920s style party/day dress is just swell! I mean, it's a great dress for wearing (fits right into today's styles), for theme parties, or for costume use in the theater in shows like MAME,THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, THE BOYFRIEND, SINGING IN THE RAIN, ANYTHING GOES--among many others.
This particular "Velma" dress is a soft yellow polyester crepe with a beautiful satin sheen. It has an impressionistic floral all-over print. This dress is the epitome of the dropped-waist, slip-on dress that was so loved during that period. The bodice has a dropped waist, split collar with ecru, single lace trim, and plain cap sleeves. The skirt is of a gathered construction with a straight hem. (These are back in style currently, so this dress can be worn as a regular dress and also used as a 1920s costume!)
A polyester/rayon light green slip (pictured)with side vents, is included.

On stage, on display or just for wearing, it would look smashing with a cloche hat, ecru Mary Jane pumps and pearls, and can be worn with or without short white gloves and a draw-string fabric handbag.
