Soft pink swing jacket is made of a soft gaberdine and has its original closure (oversized same fabric-covered button), and is lined with a soft baby pink taffeta. The cut is very full (it swings!), which is nice if you like wearing yummy sweaters underneath. Cute cuffs add a tailored look, and the side tailored vertical pockets add a convenient place to tuck away your mad money or a pair of gloves. And there is no better color than pink to compliment the complexion. (This lovely hue of pink was popular in the 1940s and wide use unique to the period).
Called a "Topper" during the period, this jacket is a forerunner of the "car-coat" of the 1950s--the idea being to avoid the difficulty of entering and exiting a car with a long coat.
With its classic styling, this jacket can be the perfect showcase for that vintage broach or scarf you've been dying to wear. Today, with our eclectic use of vintage style, it could be used in a variety of ways. It's an easy piece to throw on with your jeans and run to the store, or it can be worn with dresses or suits--as it was at the time. (It could even be used for your maternity period and after when its so hard to find anything that fits).
The tags in the jacket read: "Style Trends of California". The size tag is unreadable, so we will measure for a good fit.
