The colors are bright and vibrant. This is a large and unusual punch paper sampler. The fancy lettering, vines and flowers are beautifully done and the stately home with detailed landscape make this a hard to find piece. This wonderful piece has decorative glitter throughout and special metallic silver threads to give a sparkly affect. The silver foil behind the punch paper gives this piece an enchanting look. The carved dark wood frame with decorative gold inset and the old wavy glass are original to the piece. The wood back and eye hooks are also original. The wire has been replaced. There is no thread loss and no stains. There is a tiny perforation to the punch paper under the word ‘Home’ (see close up photo). This rare and unique antique Victorian punch paper motto is in excellent original condition with a great old patina. Circa 1880’s.

The fine lettering and fancywork are very pleasing. The colors are bright and there are no stains. There is a little thread loss in the letter D in God and in the H and O in Home. The wood frame is in original black color with a decorative gold leaf inner frame. Old, original glass. The back is the original wood with cut nails and wire hanger. The number 171 is stamped on the frame. This is a fine example of Victorian handiwork with a wonderful sentiment, in excellent original condition. Circa 1880’s.

The words and vines are stitched with great detail. This piece is in excellent original condition, except that there is a very tiny slight discoloration in the top left corner of the punch paper and a very tiny spot on the punch paper above ‘Home’. There is no thread loss or tears. The Victorian Eastlake frame is original to the piece. The frame is wood, faced with gold paint and incising. The edge has original black paint. The inner frame has gold and black highlights. This piece retains the original wavy glass, wood back, and old eye hooks and hanger. The frame has age appropriate wear. Circa 1890’s.

The details in the scene are quite exceptional. It is mesmerizing to look at. The colors are bright and vibrant. The door of the house has metallic gold threads. Decorative foiling behind the punch paper. This is a fine original, deep walnut, Victorian frame with black trim and decorative gold inset. It has a wonderful old patina. This piece retains its original wood back, wavy glass, and wire hanger. This piece is in excellent original condition. There appears to be a very slight discoloration near the T in 'sweet' but what you are really seeing is light coming through the back because the backing is two separate original boards with a slight separation (see photo). No thread loss or tears. Circa 1890's.

Antique Victorian Punch Paper Sampler of Cross w/ Needlepoint & Beads This is a very interesting antique Victorian punch paper sampler of a Cross being displayed on a pedestal. The cross and pedestal are made up of silvery-white beads stitched into the punch paper. Beautiful needlepoint highlights the cross and pedestal, creating a 3-dimensional appearance. Bright and colorful needlepoint flowers cascade and wrap around the cross. The original oval shaped, white matting with gold inner trim displays the cross nicely. Original carved walnut wood frame with gold inset. Applied walnut leaf carvings in each corner. The tips of each leaf are chipped off, but matching one another. Original glass and original wood backing. New hooks and wire hanger. The dark brown thread, used to highlight the cross and pedestal is wearing a bit thin in a few spots as well as some dark brown thread loss. The other needlepoint thread colors and the beading are all intact. There is also a slight tear in the punch paper towards the middle right side of the cross. The matting has age-appropriate wear. “Home Sweet Home” w/ House, Landscape, & Gazebo, Just Exquisite! Lg Colorful Antique Victorian Punch Paper Motto Sampler This is a large, charming, and captivating antique Victorian "Home Sweet Home" punch paper motto. It has exquisite details throughout. Beginning with the lettering…The stitching is in beautiful vibrant shades of pinks and reds and the first letter of each word is outlined in a very shapely manner in a lovely and striking shade of green. The scene is fantastic with extremely elaborate stitching throughout. The home is large and has a wonderful deep red stitch framing it. The fancy Victorian gazebo in the foreground is so pretty and detailed. The tree on the right has a whimsical quality, as do all of the flowers throughout the sampler. The lawn area encompasses pleasing and interesting Victorian landscape. This punch paper is full of vibrant colors and retains the original decorative foil behind the punch paper, giving the piece a wonderful glisteny effect! The wood frame is original to the piece. It has a very decorative burl wood veneer that really highlights the punch paper within. The punch paper and frame are in excellent original condition. There is only one extremely, very small piece of unstitched punch paper that is missing in the right edge near the tree. This piece retains the original glass, wood backing, and wire hanger. It is evident that the person that made this wonderful antique punch paper motto was very skilled and took great pride in her work. It’s a real gem! Circa 1880’s.

Small Rare Religious Antique Punch Paper Sampler Needlepoint Picture of Jesus This is a very rare, attractive and special antique religious punch paper sampler featuring a picture of Jesus. This piece is unusually small for a punch paper. I have never seen anything like it before. The entire piece has been hand-done by needlepoint. The fancy and shapely needlepoint design features a cross and crown at the top, incorporated within an arch, and decorative work below. The picture is well-defined and the colors are bright and vibrant. The entire punch paper has beautiful details throughout. The needlepoint is nearly perfect with just a few missing threads. There is a very small discoloration on the punch paper towards the center right hand side and one near the bottom. The punch paper has a tiny perforation at the very edge, near Jesus’ hand. Also, partially covered by the frame, there are two little rows of punch paper that are missing at the very bottom right and left hand corner of this piece, approx. ¾" in length. Overall, these small and very minuet imperfections do not detract from the beauty of this special and wonderfully rare antique. Original, gold-painted molded wood frame with original black trim. The frame is in excellent original condition. Original glass and old wire hanger. Circa 1920’s.

The angels have big expressive eyes and nice details throughout. Bright, beautiful colors. This piece has no thread loss or stains. The petit-point details are well done and adds to the fine stitching and needlework in this lovely, old angelic textile picture. Original, natural wood frame with a thin, blue-painted inner trim. “Heaven Is My Home” Bookmark, Lg. in Size, Religious & Floral Antique Punch Paper Motto w/ Original Silk Ribbon This is an exceptional antique punch paper bookmark with the seldom seen motto, "Heaven Is My Home". This is all hand-done. The motto is ‘framed’ by beautiful stitchery, interestingly enough, in the shape of a bookmark. Above that, is a lovely and colorful creation of floral work. The elaborate, decorative design represents a variety of flowers. There must be over two dozen different colors of thread used to make this bookmark! The way the colors of thread blend perfectly into each other is very attractive. All of the threads remain bright and brilliant in color. The threading is tight and secure, front and back. There is no thread loss or signs of wear to the threading. The punch paper is in excellent original condition as well. There are No creases to the paper, No perforations to the holes, and No stains or tears anywhere! This unusually large, antique punch paper bookmark retains its original fancy, bright red silk ribbon. The ribbon has been beautifully stitched and remains tightly secured to the edge of the punch paper with matching red thread, although mostly concealed. The edges of the ribbon both have nice, finely-done, decorative fringe-work. The fringe has not frayed or come unwound any more than it was meant to. The ribbon remains bright and bold in color with no stains, holes, tears, and no snagging to the front and back of the silk fabric. There are just a couple Extremely Minor creases to the edge of the ribbon that could easily be flattened out. Interestingly, I was told that this antique punch paper bookmark was found in an antique Bible. Apparently, the Bible has kept it safe and beautifully preserved for many years in between its pages. This lovely bookmark must have been left and forgotten about for so long, explaining its clean, bright, and excellent original condition. Unfortunately, I do not have the Bible that it was found in. That would have been nice though. Overall, this very special, antique punch paper bookmark is in excellent original condition. Circa 1920’s.

The lettering is very fancy and well done in 3 lovely shades of red. The rocks, the cross, and the water are all very nicely stitched with beautiful shades of brown and blue, creating depth and texture. There are no stains and no thread loss. This motto is very decorative, yet easy to read. The glass is original. The deep walnut frame is also original to the motto and retains a very nice original finish with gold inset. The children and the pets have wonderful expressive and captivating faces. The needlepoint and petit-point work is very well done with bright, beautiful colors. The matching, original wood frames are fancy with decorative gesso framing the edge and the centers. They are original black with gold highlights. “The Good Shepherd” Rare Antique Victorian Religious Needlepoint & Petitpoint Jesus Scene in Shadowbox Frame This is a rare and unique antique Victorian religious hand-stitched needlepoint and petitpoint scene of the Child Jesus holding a baby lamb. This picture depicts the famous scene of 'The Good Shepard'. There are many interesting details including a fine depiction of Jesus with a halo above his head, his staff/cross, colorful stitching of his clothes and shoes, along with elaborate scenery including clouds, sky, water, greenery, and a palm tree. The scene has crosses stitched into the four corners and includes several border colors including white, 2 shades of peach, and a wide black border all framed in red. The needlepoint scene has been filled from behind like a pillow and then secured onto the purple cloth, all set within a fancy gold Victorian shadowbox frame. The needlepoint is in excellent original condition, except for some minimal thread loss in a couple places. (see photos) Below the needlepoint on the purple cloth there is a plaque mounted bearing the child’s name, "Harriet Charles Aged 13 1869". The inscription is quite fascinating in itself, as it appears to have been hammered with a series of dots. The gold finish on the decorative, wood and gesso frame appears to have been touched up long ago. For some unknown reason there are scratches on the plaque’s date. The velvet cloth has a very slight discoloration near the plaque. The frame retains the original wood backing and wire hanger. There is some minimal loss of the gesso around the edge of the frame. This is a rare and beautiful needlepoint done in the mid-Victorian times by a very talented 13 year old girl! Circa 1869.
