Black Americana "Lonesome for You" Antique Buzza Motto Print / Poet: Maurine Hathaway
This is a rare antique Buzza Black Americana motto print titled, "Lonesome for You". The picture depicts a little boy sitting on a watermelon as a chicken watches him. It is written by famous author, Maurine Hathaway. This special, embossed illustration conveys great expression with gold highlights throughout. The illustrators name is written in the bottom right hand corner, see photo. Also, under the motto, it is signed, "Copyright 1928, The Buzza Co., Minneapolis, U.S.A.". This hard to find, Buzza motto has a charming sentiment. Original molded wood frame in a blue and silver color, original glass, and original brass hanger. The paper backing has very minor tears. Overall, this piece is in excellent original condition with minimal age appropriate wear. Circa 1928.
