This is a rare, Victorian, hand-painted porcelain of St. Joseph holding Baby Jesus. This is an exquisite and compelling work of art. Fine color and detail. This piece is in extremely fine, original condition. Very elaborate brass frame with burgundy mohair fabric framing the painting that is also in excellent condition. Fancy brass roping frames the oval mohair banding. Twisted brass wire stand and floral pattern on backing with age appropriate wear. This is a wonderful example of Victorian religious art. Circa 1890’s.
