| This is a beautiful German porcelain decorative plate with a lovely romantic scene. This plate portrays a man and woman together with a dove resting on the woman’s arm and a cupid with his bow and arrows, hovering near the couple. There’s also a woman on the side, sitting down with an instrument. All of their faces show loving expressions. This scene takes place in a woodland setting. This plate has exquisite detailing and very pleasing colors. Beautiful cranberry colored border with a gilded scalloped edge and fancy gold decoration. The back of the plate bears the C. Tielsch & Co. factory mark, Altwasser, Silesia, Germany, c. 1875 – 1935. This superb German decorative plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This decorative plate evokes such a loving and happy feeling...a true in-Spirit piece. Circa 1890’s. |
