This is a shapely, fancy antique Victorian plate with an inspiring scene of a cherub resting above a woman near a brook. Lovely background scenery. Beautiful colors and wonderful detail work. The cherub and woman both have very appealing and angelic faces. Artist signature in the lower right corner reads, "Kaufman". Fancy embossed edge with gold leaf highlights. There is a blue manufacture's mark on the back. (see photo) This piece is in excellent original condition, except for a very minuet dot near the left edge of plate – see photo. Circa 1900.
