This is a lovely handmade, print, plastic, and thread antique keepsake box. It’s uniquely curved, octagonal shape allows this box to display 16 different religious and inspirational scenes, on the outside, inside, top and bottom.

| There appears to be a Christmas theme to this box. This hand-done, beautifully threaded piece makes it all the more special. The multi-colored thread is very pretty and complimentary to the colors of the scenes. There is a little thread loss here and there to the sides of the box, but the thread on the top and bottom, which is more elaborate anyways, are excellent and remain tightly woven. The minor thread loss does not effect the shapeliness of this piece. Every scene featured on this box is captivating, including pictures of angels, 3 different Nativity scenes, The Holy Family, and several of Jesus as portrayed from a baby all the way to a man. Each scene is a separate print. Each print is protected with a thin, flexible, and clear plastic that has been stitched together by hand to create this uniquely curved shape. The small stamp on the outside of the box on one of the prints reads, "R copyright C". On the inside, bottom of the box, is the name, "M.L. Cooper". This name is stamped on only one of the 16 prints. The prints and plastic covers are in excellent original condition, except for only one on the outside that has a few minor creases to the print alone. It’s the picture of Jesus holding a baby lamb in his arms. The inside of the box is clean and ready for use. Circa 1920’s. |
