This is a unique piece of patriotic / animal antique art. The puppy and the torn up War Ration coupons are hand-cut and applied to the backing. The scene is very appealing and the pup’s expression of guilt is precious. The dog is the famous cocker spaniel "Butch" owned and painted by Albert Staehle for The Saturday Evening Post. The frame is wood painted black. This piece is in excellent original condition. Old glass and wire hanger. Circa 1944.
