This is a wonderful antique Victorian landscape oil painting on canvas, signed by listed artist, "J. Davis" in the bottom left hand corner of canvas. A serene scene with a dazzling water element. The babbling brook meanders off into the distance. The sunlight is very appealing. You are easily drawn into this beautiful nature setting. The painting is in excellent original condition. It is in its original, decorative, and very complimentary, late 19th century, wood and fancy gesso frame. The frame is in excellent original condition, retaining a wonderful original gold finish and patina. Original wire hanger. Circa 1890’s.
