| This is a wonderfully special and rare antique print featuring a beautiful Guardian Angel watching over and protecting two sweet, but scared, little children (probably Brother & Sister) who are attempting to cross an old, wooden rickety bridge by themselves. The older girl appears to be comforting the frightened young boy. This is definitely a classic, famous, and well-loved scene. However, this particular piece offers something unique and different. This print features the complete Guardian Angel scene in a rare panoramic-style. This is very special and uncommon, as the majority of print with this scene normally feature only about half of the complete picture. This fully detailed scene also includes a house, waterfalls, and forest in the background. The bottom right hand corner of this print includes the artist’s rarely seen signature, "Lindberg". According to my research, this famous Lindberg picture was produced by the Fratelli Bonella Company in Italy and titled, "Heilige Schutzengel". This print has beautiful colors throughout and is in excellent original condition. The frame is original to the print. This is a large, gold-painted molded wood frame with nice decorative ribbed corners. The frame is in excellent original condition with some very minor wear to the old, gold finish. Original glass and old wire hanger. Missing paper backing. Circa 1920’s. |
