The adorable scene features a sweet young little girl scolding her ‘innocent looking’ dog for destroying her precious doll and tearing its arm off. The scene is charming and humorous. The scene appears to take place in an attic with a picturesque view of a lake and greenery outside the window. Also seen in the background of the room is an old lantern and spinning wheel. The dog is assuming an apologetic pose…very cute. The bottom left corner of the print has the publisher’s name, "Copyright R.C. Co., N.Y.". In bottom right corner of the print is the picture’s original item number, "2281". The bottom center reads the title, "The First Scolding". The original wood frame retains the original decorative grained wood finish. Original glass, paper backing, and wire hanger. This wonderful and amusing print and the frame are in excellent original condition. Circa 1920’s.
