This is a radiant and compelling antique sepia print titled, "Madonna". The pictures features the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus. The print evokes a quality of tenderness and serenity. This antique print is in excellent original condition. In the lower left corner of the print is either a signature or another title. It is difficult to make out. It appears to read, "Eine Vision". When I translated the words from German to English it read "A Vision". The title is centered under the print on the original matting which bears the original plate mark. The original wood frame has a lovely textured gold finish that is highly complimentary to the print. It is also in excellent original condition. The paper backing has its original art shop label that reads, "Goldberg’s Art Shop; 233 Fifth Ave.; New York." The glass and wire hanger are original to the print. Circa 1920's.
