This is a delightful, inspirational, and very whimsical antique watercolor featuring several happy adorable children and a young baby frolicking in a field. The scene captures the children (3 girls, 3 boys, and a baby) all holding hands in a large circle, which to many people represents, ‘The Circle of Life", although it is not titled that. The beautiful colors in this picture are of soft muted pastels. The artist really captured the feeling and emotion of this scene, as the details throughout are nicely done. Check out the expression on the little boy’s face with the straw hat…so charming! This watercolor is in excellent original condition, except for a very tiny dark spot in the upper left corner. This piece is in its original fancy molded wood frame which retains the original gold finish. The frame is in excellent original condition. Original glass. New wire hanger. Circa 1920’s.
