Manufacturer: Batashev Factory This is a peasant barrel shaped samovar that was purchased in trade from an Alaskan native for a hunting rifle by Belmore Brown on the Mount Mckinley Expedition in 1910. The noted artist, mountain man and naturalist was a close friend of the current owners and gave it to them as a gift. It is in very good condition except that the spigot has been replaced by a wood stopper, probably by the Alaskan native. It has stamp marks on the front showing the czar, and is circa mid-1800s. It is approx. 21-1/2" high and 12-1/2" wide. We are including a book published in 1988 by Robert H. Bates, "Mountain Man, the Story of Belmore Browne." #403-4056
