Vintage Finnish Glass Black Swan - Artist Signed A beautiful Finnish glass artist's interpretation of the fabled black swan.

The swan is a lovely black encased in clear glass, with the clear glass forming the beak, take & wings. The piece measures 5" tall & 4 1/2" from tip of beak to end of tail feathers.

It is signed of the base by the artist: "A. Jalolaine" & "Oy Kumela". The latter designates "Kumela Co." as the production company.

Vintage Stromberg Swedish Ice Blue Crystal Engraved Vase - Signed A beautiful, quality art glass Swedish ice blue crystal etched vase, signed "Strombergshyttan B882 C223".

The vase measures 3 1/2" tall, 3" wide & 2 7/8" deep. It is a beautiful ice blue, crystal clear, with a deeply engraved sail boat on the high seas, with sea gulls soaring around the top of the sail.

The company was founded by Edvard (d. 1946) & Gerda (d. 1960) Stromberg, with Gerda doing the designing. Edvard worked as a manager & artist for both Kosta & Orrefors, & is world renown for their beautiful clear & lightly tinted crystal items.My photos do not do it justice & I will try a different background. Finnish Art Glass Bird A nice Finnish art glass bird with an unusual finish.

The bird has ground or powdered silver glass on the body, & a clear glass neck & head. (The ground glass finish is not blue as it appears in photos.)The bird measures 5 1/2" from tip of beak to tip of tail & is 3 1/2" tall at the head. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The body is thick but hollow & it is ground flat at the base. There is no artist signature that we can find.

Vintage Scandinavian Riihimaki Glass Laplander Boot This adorable little Laplander boot is in clear crystal & of the very good quality one expects from the Kumela Riihimaki Glass Co., Finland.

It measures 2 3/4" tall & foot part is 2 1/2" long. The toe is turned up at the toe as the Laplander boots are. This is a great item to have in a shoe collection. It is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Scandinavian Cranberry Glass Candle Holders By Muurla Glass - Mint This striking & beautiful cranberry red candlestick pair is designed by the famous industrial designer Ristomatti Ratia for the Muurla Glass Co., Finland. Mr. Ratia is a world famous industrial designer in several artistic fields including glass, porcelain, textiles, lady's accessories & housewares.

This pair dates from the 1990's & are highly collectible. The taller candlestick measures 9 1/2" tall & the base is 3 3/8" in diameter. The shorter one measures 5 3/4" tall & is 2 1/2" in diameter.

They are a beautiful cranberry color with a matte or acid finish. They still have their original labels reading: MUURLA; & Ristomatti RATIA.

Vintage Vicke Lindstrand Signed Glass Fish Sculpture - c. 1960 This vintage 1960's Vicke Lindstrand glass fish sculpture is beautifully finished & intriguingly designed by one of the great Swedish glass artist for Kosta Glassworks.

Mr. Lindstrand was a designer for Orrefors Glassworks for several years & then with Kosta Glassworks both as director & designer.

The sculpture is in mint condition with only the normal base wear expected for this age. There are no chips or scratches.

It is signed: "Kosta VL/1623". The sculpture measures 8 1/2" in length & is about 2 1/8" at it's highest point. This item is superior to similar, larger sculptures signed only "Kosta" & well demonstrates Lindstrands artistic ability.

Vintage Cobalt Blue Cased Glass Whale Figurine - Sweden This very well finished c. 1960 whale figurine is signed: Marcolin Sweden M 412 & has it's original label still attached. The label states: Genuine Handmade In Sweden, FM, Marcolin, Art Crystal, Full Lead Crystal, Over 24%. In 1996Glass Collector's Digest featured the Marcolin brothers, from their start in Italy, working for several of the most famous glass houses in Murano, to 1954 when they moved to Sweden.

In 1961, they had opened their own glasshouse in Ronneby, Blekinge. In 1990 they were to open a glassworks in Indiana, but it never came to fruition. They were well known for their glass animals & a whale, similar to this one, was featured in the article.

The cobalt blue-to-clear center is cased in clear crystal. The figurine measures 9" long & 3 1/2" at the hump. It is in mint condition with only expected base wear, & has no chips or scratches.

Vintage Somerso Artist Signed Flygfors Art Glass Vase - 9 1/2 This vintage striking & beautiful 9 1/2" tall, somerso Swedish glass vase, c.1950, is signed: "Coquelle" and "Flygfors 57". It is done in black & white in clear-cased glass.

The inner black & white portion of the vase is encased in clear crystal & makes a striking & unusual impression.Flygfors was founded in Sweden in 1888, purchased by Orrefors in 1970 & closed in 1980.
