The pot measures approximately 8" tall to the top of it's finial. The metal is copper. It is very ornate with engraved ornate symbols from that part of the world.
Even the spout has an ornate cover which may be raised when pouring.

QQ-25-DD

Antique Repousse Teapot - Dutch Scenes - Windmill Mark This is a magnificent Repousse silver teapot, dating c. 1890, with intricate scenes of Dutch couples dancing among the trees with windmills in the back ground. In addition the are many Repousse flourishes.

The piece is hexagonal with the six panels alternating with the dancing couple & children running with more windmills in the background. The pot measures 7 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finial, & 3 5/8" across the hexagonal base.

The base of the pot has an embossed windmill with a calabash-type pipe on each side, & the number "8303''. It is possible that it is a piece from Barbour Silver Co. prior to it's purchase in 1898 by International Silver Co.

There is no mark to indicate the grade of silver. It does not appear to be plated, but perhaps a coin silver. We used a polishing cloth only enough to bring out the intricate patterns. The spout is 4-sided & the handle is a typical Victorian shape. The pot is in very good condition with only minor dents & scratches in the base from use. Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest.

This item is one from the eclectic collection of world traveler Col. Donald Davis, U. S. Army, Ret., & perhaps better known to movie buffs as childhood actor John Henry, Jr. in the Mac Sennett movies. It has been in his collection for over 50 years.

Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest. (Item ID:QQ-25-DD)
