Lapland Native Costumed
This is a must for doll collectors. The term "Sami" is the name by which the native Laplanders call themselves.
It was purchased at a street market in Helsinki, Finland a number of years ago. The seller said he had made the outfit - flannel trousers, & reindeer fur coat & hat. (Do you think his wife or mother may have made it?)
The eyes open & close. It appears to be of a slightly pliable "doll" material. I have not disturbed the costume for fear of damaging it.
The doll measures 15" from her toes to the top of her fur hat. It is in mint condition & really adorable.
