Oriental Soapstone Carving This lovely soapstone carving has a vase on each end of the carving with well executed vines & flowers.

Unlike many found these days, this artistic carving has been accomplished "in the round", as it has detailing on the front and back -- not as many do these days with just a rough flat cut in the back. It measures 6" long & 3 1/2" tall. It dates post 1920.

19th Century Oriental Hand Carved Ivory Immortal - Kuan-yin A very lovely example of a lovely hand carved ivory immortal, Kuan-yin, with flowing robes, a bottle & branch of leaves, c. 19th century.

The figure on her stand measure approximately 7" tall & just the figure is 6".My photos just do not show the lovely, darkening, striated lines in the figure itself. She is beautifully carved on all sides, with great detail. The figure is in excellent condition with no chips or breakage. The carving is detail down to her hair, robe design & drape. The wood base is also has great detail.

Bronze Tone Cast Metal Incense Censer - Chinese Man - Made In Japan A beautifully articulated figure of a Chinese man seated cross-legged holding an ornate box or basket which is actually for incense burning.

The figure is 4 3/4" tall & 3 1/8" at the widest part of the base. The lid of the ornate box, decorated with a dragon, is removable & has 2 triangular vents. There are oriental writings or signatures on the sides. The man has a queue & wears the hat formerly worn by men. The robes flow in a realistic manner. The pillow or platform on which he is seated is decorated with the Greek key pattern. The bottom is covered with brown felt.

Tlthough it is a Chinese figure, on the lower back near the base is: "Made In Japan". We believe it dates well before WW II, c. 1920 - 30. This is an unusual piece & extremely well done, not like later pieces of this type. Thank you for shopping at The Treasure Chest. (Item ID:D-22)
