Manufacturer: Victorian This magnificent jack-in-the-pulpit vase is very similar to two vases pictured in Ruth Webb Lee's Victorian Glass Handbook, Plate #225, of vases popular during the 1870's & 1880's.
This has a fancier crimp that those pictured & is a fantastic cabinet piece. It measures 9" tall & is about 7 1/2" at it's widest. I believe it is Sandwich Glass Co. in origin as they made opaline glass of this type.
This is my favorite tulip-type vase but I can't keep them all at my age. The red goes from bright cranberry red to a deep burgundy at the edges.
It is crystal & has a good ring to it. The vase has a polished pontil, attesting to it's quality.
