This beautiful vase in opalescent blue glass with silver base is not only lovely but makes an ideal cabinet piece.
The title "Single Lily Spool" is used for this item in the book: "Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass", second edition, by Edwards, on page 110. It's maker is Jefferson Glass. The featured photo shows a "gold" base but this has the identical base in silver. There are no markings on the base, but the weight & polish appear to be sterling. It is also called an epergne.
The item is in mint condition with no chips or cracks. There is threading up the stem to the underside of the lily. Overall, it measures 8" tall with the base slightly over 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The silver portion has only normal wear that would be expected in an item this age.
This is truly a wonderful piece. Thank you for shopping at The Treasure Chest. |
