This is a very well carved African ebony wood sculpture of a Kenyan woman dating at least 60 years or more.
The sculpture is from the collection of Col. Donald Davis, U. S. Military, (Ret'd.) from the years he lived in Kenya approximately 60 years ago. Col. Davis was a child star in the movies of the famous Mac Sennett.
The item measure 7" tall & has a base that is 3" by 3 1/2". It shows in detail the native hair styles of that time as well as the elongated ear lobes considered a beauty asset.
The sculpture is in excellent condition with a good deal of detail, unlike pieces made for the tourist trade. Thank you for stopping by The Treasure Chest.(Item ID:RR-14-DD) |
