The pattern is a transfer patter with some hand painting on the flowers & leaves. It has the mark "John Maddock & Sons Ltd. Royal Vitreous England" & a "B" which is probably the artist. The "Ltd." was added after 1886 to the trade mark.
There is some minor wear to the transfer pattern & some fine crazing in the glaze, particularly on the bottom of the platter. There are no chips or cracks on this item. The platter measure 16 3/4" long by 12" wide. It would make an excellent display item as well as a useful platter for those special holidays & celebrations. Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest.
