Lovely Japanese Cast Iron Tetsubin teapot or water pot, with signature of artist in raised oriental script on the side - a perfect miniature of the larger famous water pots.
It appears to have had gentle usage & age on it but it still has part of a paper label on the underside of the lid. It measures 4 1/2" from back of pot to tip of spout & approximately 2 3/4" from base to tip of lid finial.
In addition to the raised signature, there are small flowers & petals around the pot. The lid has a partial paper label in the shape of a double gourd on the under side, which I am unable to read.
This is a great item for the tea lover, the oriental collector or for person who collects utensils of cast iron. Thank you for visiting The Treasure Chest. |
